The biggest Mardi Gras parades are less than a week away, and many New Orleanians are asking themselves if they’re ready for it all. Locals know that precise planning during this time of the year is key to enjoying stress free celebrations. But between nailing down a no-traffic parade route, locking in a bathroom plan, and picking out the perfect carnival outfit, this season can seem a little overwhelming. Luckily, we can help with at least one of the above.
Some parade-goes prefer to go all out in their costumes, donning anything from a Batwoman body suit to a life size emoji. Most spectators, however, show their Mardi Gras spirit more subtly. You can’t go wrong by simply wearing purple, green, or gold. But we recommend taking your ensemble up a notch by accenting what you already have accessories specific to the season. Stand out in a purple green or gold wig, bright tights, or a fleur de lis scarf.
The good news is that at this time of the year, anything goes. So whatever you decide to wear will be just right, so long as you’re having fun in it! Laissez les bon temps roulez
